Royal Square District & Mural Park

The Royal Square District has emerged as a vibrant anchor within Downtown York’s Central Business District. Located at the intersection of the city’s four royal streets—King, Queen, Duke, and Princess. This once-overlooked cluster of properties has been strategically acquired, assembled, and revitalized into a dynamic mixed-use neighborhood by Royal Square, serving as developer and general contractor.

Through a phased approach, Royal Square transformed underutilized and blighted buildings into productive assets, creating a diverse community of residents, independent businesses, artist studios, restaurants, and the Bond Wedding & Event Venue. The district is organized around a central lot with over 100 parking spaces and is home to Mural Park, a curated outdoor gallery featuring more than 30 large-scale public murals.

This creative placemaking initiative has positioned Royal Square as both a cultural destination and an economic engine, advancing opportunities for the arts and community engagement in the heart of Downtown York.
