National House

The National House is a defining landmark within Downtown York’s historic streetscape. This restoration maintained the building’s iconic architecture while preserving 14 apartment units above a prominent commercial anchor, Holy Hound Taproom. The project not only restored a civic asset but also reinforced its role as a long-term economic engine in the heart of the Central Business District.

Royal Square served as developer and general contractor, while also leading the investment group that acquired and now operates the Holy Hound Taproom. As owner/operators of The Bond Event Venue, GranFalloons Tavern, and now Holy Hound, Royal Square continues to drive Downtown York’s evolution through strategic investment in both real estate and hospitality—cultivating a vibrant, destination-oriented district that propels ongoing economic development across the city.
